Microsoft fans waiting to grab a new next-gen console have been given a small Xbox Series X re-stock boost this week.

According to one retailer, they will be refreshing their online store with new fresh Xbox stock this week.

The only downside is that we don’t have the exact dates or times for when this will be happening.

We do have a rough window on when to expect things to start kicking off and that should mean that at least some UK gamers will get lucky with an order.

UK retailer Box.co.uk has confirmed that new shipments of Microsoft’s next-gen console have gone live this week and another is being planned for around December 14.

Box.co.uk is using a ballot system, meaning that it won’t be just a mad rush to grab a next-gen console before they sell out.

A message from the retailer reads: “We’ve been overwhelmed by the support shown to this idea & to everyone who’s entered. We wanted a system that would avoid a fight to the checkout & that would be random & fair to all.

“Successful entries will be contacted informing them of this, with details of how to purchase.

“Our second wave of Series X / S allocation will be drawn the week commencing 14th Dec.

“Unsuccessful entries will be contacted when the ballot is completed & all stock allocated.”

As mentioned above, while the first batch of consoles have been selected, more Xbox Series X stock is coming next week, telling gamers today:

“That’s our first batch of lucky customers selected. Please check your Inboxes and Junk folders for an email.

So it’s hard to gauge just how many people will be lucky enough to snag a console before the end of the year.

Fans will have to wait for further updates from the likes of Currys, Argos and Tesco to find out when more stock will be available at other retailers.

Elsewhere, GAME this week has launched an ongoing competition which offers over 100 PlayStation prizes, including four PS5 bundles up for grabs.

There are two PS5 Digital Edition console bundles and two bundles for the PS5 console which comes fitted with a Blu-ray drive.

Both bundles include Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales, Demon’s Souls, Sackboy: A Big Adventure, and 12 months access to both PS Plus and PlayStation Now.

Xbox Series X and PS5 stock options are expected to stay limited into early 2021.
