Sir Rod Stewart has had a long and illustrious career as a solo artist and in the band Faces. Recently his private life has been more of the focus of the news, after he and his son Sean were arrested and accused of attacking a security guard in Florida. But who is Sean and who is Sean’s mother?

Sir Rod Stewart, 75, and his son, Sean, who is 40-years-old, will appear at a pre-trial hearing in Florida after they were accused of attacking a security guard at a hotel in Palm Beach, Florida, back on New Year’s Eve 2019.

The alleged attack took place at The Breakers Hotel at around 11pm, with security guard Jessie Dixon claiming the pair punched and attacked him after they were refused entry to a private party.

The father and son were charged with one count each of simple battery, and Jessie sought to pursue a civil case against them in January.
Jessie claimed Sir Rod struck him in the “left rib cage area” after Sean shoved Jessie first.

Sir Rod and Sean have pleaded not guilty.

The pre-trial hearing is one of a number which has taken place, in the hopes of striking a deal between Jessie and the defendants, which would mean they would avoid a criminal trial.

Sean grew up in Los Angeles and is known for his various reality TV appearances, but he is also a musician and model.

He starred in the reality show Sons of Hollywood, after which he appeared on Celebrity Rehab with Dr Drew and the reality series Stewarts and Hamiltons, about his family and the family of actor George Hamilton.

His mother is his first wife Alana Stewart, the model to whom Sir Rod was married and had two children.

Sir Rod is known for his rockstar ways, having been a performer on the stage for many years.

He first started off singing folk with a friend of his, performer Wizz Jones, before adopting a more Mod style in the 1960s, before eventually becoming more interested in rhythm and blues and soul music.

He joined The Dimensions, who performed this style of music, after which the group took on a more established frontman, Jimmy Powell, whose arrival saw Sir Rod leave the group.

In 1964, Sir Rod finally got a big break performing with Long John Baldry, but also sought out a solo career at the same time.

After attempting some solo work, Sir Rod embarked on group performances with various bands, including Steampacket, The Jeff Beck Group, and Faces, though by this time Sir Rod was also releasing solo work.

Faces became his most successful band with him as the frontman, though eventually tensions rose due to Sir Rod’s solo efforts becoming more popular than the band’s own work.

Faces’ final album was released in 1973, at which point Sir Rod’s solo career was established and he continued to release music.

By the late 1970s, and 1980s, Sir Rod was at his height, though his music was crossing over into more mainstream, glam-rock influenced songs, which gained some criticism.

In 1994, Sir Rod was inducted into the Rock ‘n’ Roll Hall of fame, after morphing into a number of different personas, and taking on various genres.

In recent years, Sir Rod has released songbook albums and has been more a focus of TV and press for his personal endeavours.
