While the latest PS5 re-stock event is now over and leading retailers like Argos and Currys are sold out again, more is expected in the future.

It’s unclear if there will be more PS5 stock to buy before the end of the year, but it looks like at least one more refresh is possible.

And if that happens, Sony might be able to pull off another month of impressive sales for its next-gen console.

It was revealed earlier this week that the PS5 was the best-selling console in the UK during November 2020.

PS5 UK sales have been high, although the tech giant has failed to keep up with demand, much like in the United States.

According to new sales information shared by GfK market data, via GamesIndustry, the PlayStation 5 was the leading console product in the region.

Around 900,000 games consoles were sold in the UK during November, with the Nintendo Switch finishing in second place.

Some analysts have backed the Switch to hold onto the sales crown in larger markets during the end of the year.

But that doesn’t seem a possibility in the UK, with November’s numbers being led by the PS5.

A report from VGChartz adds: “The Nintendo Switch was the second best-selling console during the month, which is just the third month in two years it didn’t come in first. Switch hardware sales were up 96 per cent month-on-month and up 63 per cent year-on-year.

“For the month of November, nearly 900,000 consoles were in the UK. In terms of home consoles, it is the eighth biggest month for units sold and the second biggest month for console revenue, only behind December 2013, which was the month after the PS4 and Xbox One launched.”

No news was shared on exact numbers of PS5 consoles sold, or where the Xbox Series X/S range ranked.

Today saw a number of UK retailers restock the PS5, only to sell out in a very short period of time.

The PS5 has been in and out of stock all day, so it’s worth checking in with all of the major retailers.

But for now, it appears that the latest PS5 UK re-stock period has now ended.

The PlayStation 5 is expected to remain a highly-sought-after item going into 2021, with global demand for next-gen consoles at an all-time high.

Stories of scalpers securing stock over recent weeks has led to a surge in highly-priced consoles being listed online.

This situation is expected to continue until production can catch up with demand later next year.
