Sony is getting ready to reveal the PS Plus free PS5 and PS4 games for January 2021.

Assuming Sony doesn’t break with tradition, the next batch of free PlayStation Plus games will be revealed on December 30 at 4.30pm UK time.

The free PS5 and PS4 games will be available to download less than a week later on the morning of January 5.

The next batch of PlayStation Plus free games replace the current line-up of Bugsnax and Worms Rumble for PS5, and Just Cause 4 and Rocket Arena for PS4.

There’s always a chance the free games will leak ahead of time, so stay tuned to Express Online for updates on the free PS5 and PS4 games.

Without any leaks to go on as of yet, PS Plus subscribers have been having fun making predictions about the next batch of free games.

In the regular Reddit predictions thread, fans believe that at east one first-party PlayStation exclusive will be announced for the PS4.

Guerrilla’s excellent action game Horizon Zero Dawn is the most obvious pick, especially with the sequel launching later in 2021.

Uncharted The Lost Legacy is also tipped to make an appearance, which makes sense considering the other games in the series have previously been given away for free.

Other picks include the PlayStation-exclusive MediEvil remake, as well as Gravity Rush and The Last Guardian.

Sticking to PS4 predictions, other fans thing Dark Souls Remastered will join PS Plus. However, this seems unlikely given the game is currently in the PSN sale. Perhaps we’ll get Dark Souls 2: Scholar of the First Sin instead.

Elsewhere, games like Hitman 2, Star Wars: Fallen Order, No Man’s Sky, A Plague Tale, and Assassin’s Creed: Ezio Collection get a mention.

As for PlayStation 5, there are picks for Maneater, Godfall, The Pathless, and the excellent Planet Coaster: Console Edition.

One thing we do know for sure is that Destruction All-Stars will join the PS Plus line-up in February, which is just a few weeks away.

If you’ve just picked up a PS5 or PS4 and want to bag a PS Plus subscription, then it’s worth heading over to ShopTo if you want to save some cash.

The UK retailer is currently selling 12-month PlayStation Plus subscriptions for just £42.85, compared to £49.99 on PSN.

The pick of the bunch is the excellent Bugsnax, which challenges players to hunt down dozens of monsters.

“The very first PS5 game to join PlayStation Plus is Young Horses’ ultra-charming, whimsical first-person adventure Bugsnax! Play an investigative journalist who has set out to explore Snaktooth Island, home to legendary half-bug half-snack creatures, Bugsnax,” reads the official description.

“Discover, hunt and capture all 100 critters while also tracking down and reuniting the island’s inhabitants.”
