Just like everyone else, former One Direction star Louis Tomlinson was struck hard by the effects of the coronavirus pandemic. The 28-year-old released his debut solo album Walls in January of this year, to moderate success.

The album debuted at number nine on the US Billboard 200 chart, after selling 35,000 copies.

It was met with mixed reviews, as some critics called it a “strong debut”, while others branded it “largely conservative”.

Not even a year after the first album was released, Louis is already teasing the next step of his solo career.

In a recent interview, the star explained how he has already begun thinking about how he is going to work on his new album.

Louis confessed: “I’m very, very excited. I had basically penciled down a plan before corona took over our lives.

“And now it’s kind of given me a little bit of time to really get into what I want to say and what I want things to sound like.”

He then explained his upcoming second album is going to sound a lot more like his hit song Kill My Mind.

He added: “There’s a certain energy in that song, in its delivery, in its attitude, that I want to recreate.”

On the upcoming gig, Louis confessed: “I was absolutely gutted to have to postpone my world tour this year as I was really looking forward to seeing all the fans.

“Performing for a live crowd is the most important thing to me, this live stream is a step back into that world and is something I can’t wait to film.”

He continued by adding: “I want to put on a real show for the fans, with scale and production, creating something special to end 2020 on a positive upbeat note and raise money for charities that are especially close to my heart.

“I also want to give my touring crew work, and raise some vital money for them, as without my crew the show literally couldn’t go on.”

Louis’ gig is taking place on December 12 via Veeps, with tickets out now.

The gig follows Niall Horan’s virtual gig which took place last month at the Royal Albert Hall.

Niall’s gig was a huge success, with a reported 125,000 tickets sold to watch him live online.
