Samsung are rumoured to be bolstering their mid-range line-up with some incredible flagship features that may make you think twice about purchasing a Galaxy S21, S21+ or S21 Ultra. The Galaxy S21 only launched a few weeks ago, and is Samsung’s first flagship release of 2021. The new handset has been getting positive reviews, with Express.co.uk describing it as a “truly excellent upgrade” but it’s not a “showstopper”.

We praised the S21 for its lower price point, improved design, solid battery life and great screen.

If you’ve been tempted to upgrade to the Galaxy S21 then we can see why, there are plenty of reasons to pick up the flagship.

However, new leaks that have emerged could show that you may want to hold fire just a little bit longer.

That’s because the mid-ranged and cheaper priced Galaxy A52 and A72 are rumoured to be coming with flagship-quality features you’d expect to find on much pricier handsets.

As reported by SamMobile, there are a few high-end features that could be heading to these mid-range phones.

First up, the Galaxy A52 and A72 are expected to come fitted with screens capable of 90Hz refresh rate.

Budget and mid-range phones typically have a 60Hz screen, with such a high refresh rate on phones at this price point virtually unheard of – bar the OnePlus Nord N10 5G.

The 90Hz screen fitted on the A52 and A72 should lead to a much slicker experience and smoother animations.

But that’s not all as the A52 5G is rumoured to be coming with a screen capable of 120Hz refresh rate.

That type of display is one you’d expect to find on a much more expensive flagship device.

And that may not be the only big feature heading to the A52 5G.

According to SamMobile once again, the A52 5G is rumoured to have IP67 dust and water resistance.

If that’s the case it will be the first time since 2017 that the South Korean tech giant will offer dust and water resistance for its mid range phones.

The Galaxy A52 5G specs have also allegedly leaked. The phone is expected to sport a 6.5inch Full HD+ Super AMOLED screen, be powered by a Snapdragon 750G processor and come with either 6GB or 8GB of RAM and either 128GB/256GB of internal storage – depending on which model you go for.

The A52 5G is also rumoured to have a 32MP front facing camera, and a rear camera unit headlined by a 64MP main camera sensor.

The new Samsung phone will also allegedly be powered by a 4,500mAh battery and support fast charging.

But best of all is the price point – the A52 5G is rumoured to cost €450 and could launch towards the end of next month.

That is considerably cheaper than the entry level Galaxy S21, which costs £769.

And the cheaper price tag doesn’t mean you will be scrimping on features, with the A52 5G looking like it could have plenty of functionality typically seen on pricier flagship devices.

As always with rumours, it’s best to take it with a pinch of salt until confirmation. But if true it is very exciting indeed.
