Harry Potter enchanted a generation of filmgoers for a decade, starting with Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone in 2001. 2011 saw the arrival of the series’ eighth and final film, The Deathly Hallows Part 2, concluding the story of Daniel Radcliffe’s character. While the end of the film flashed forward to show Harry, Ron, and Hermione as adults with children, no sequel to the franchise has been announced.

Author J.K. Rowling has never continued Harry Potter’s story after the conclusion of the seventh book, nor the eighth film.

But a reunion of sorts could be on the cards.

Draco Malfoy actor Tom Felton has recently been doing the rounds to promote his latest Netflix film A Babysitter’s Guide to Monster Hunting.

And during an interview about his new flick, he teased that he may be getting back together with his old film mates in the coming months.

The star explained how he was working on a virtual reunion with the stars of the series.

Speaking to Entertainment Tonight, Felton first explained: “[I’m] always chatting with a lot of the other guys on WhatsApp and staying in touch with them and making sure everything’s alright.”

He went on to tease a get-together, saying: “It’s been nice because it’s the 19th-year anniversary on November 14.

“So I’m planning some sort of digital celebration … I’m trying to wrangle all the oldies back together again to celebrate the achievement really.”

So far, there have not been any clues that would suggest the arrival of a ninth Harry Potter flick.

Later in the interview Felton praised the character which he spent so long playing – Malfoy.

Felton said: “He’s great. He has so many layers, he’s misunderstood, he’s also a bit of a git.

“He needs a hug really. I think maybe people feel sorry for him, he needs a bit of affection. Either way, I’m highly flattered and intend to do my best to satisfy that desire.”

Recently, theories on why Harry Potter was placed in Gryffindor house popped up online.

A Reddit user suggested: “When Harry tried on the hat, it mentioned all of the houses as options and Slytherin in particular. But Harry got into Gryffindor because he asked.

“He didn’t specifically say Gryffindor, but he ruled out Slytherin, and didn’t want either other house. Same for Hermione: we find out the hat actually wanted to put her into Ravenclaw, but she asked for Gryffindor.”

The Harry Potter films are available to watch on Now TV.
