Star Wars Battlefront 2 is free to download via the Epic Games Store, with this brilliant freebie up for grabs until January 21.

And it looks like there have been plenty of people rushing out to get the latest EGS free game, with EA revealing they’re having to scale up servers to meet demand.

The EA Help Twitter has confirmed that Star Wars Battlefront 2 servers are struggling, with error codes 623 and 918 appearing in the game.

The @EAHelp Twitter posted: “Seeing Error Message 623 or 918 in #StarWarsBattlefrontII?

“Sit tight, we’re on it! An incredible number of players have joined us during our @EpicGames Store free week and we’re scaling up new servers to welcome you all to the Battlefront.”

The Star Wars Battlefront 2 free game offer is available from the Epic Games Store until 4pm UK time on January 21.

Star Wars Battlefront 2 isn’t the only game that fans of the iconic space saga can play without paying a penny.

If you’re an Xbox Live Gold member then you’ll also be able to play Star Wars Squadrons for free this week.

Announcing this the Lucasfilm Games Twitter posted: “Attention Pilots! Play #StarWarsSquadrons for free via the Xbox Live Gold program from Jan 14th-17th. Get those starfighters ready!”
