Sony has confirmed that there are problems tonight using some of the core PS4 and PS5 online services.

Thousands of reports have been flagged by gamers on November 25, revealing that players can log in but can’t access certain games, apps and online services.

The official PSN site, which tracks server issues, only includes information regarding social and gaming problems, with nothing flagged for PS Now, PlayStation Video, or PlayStation Music.

A message from Sony adds: “You might have difficulty launching games, apps, or network features. We’re working to resolve the issue as soon as possible. Thank you for your patience.”

It’s unclear what has caused tonight’s outage or how long it might last across all PlayStation platforms. It should be noted that issues have been flagged on both PS4 and PS5 consoles.

One affected console owner writes: “All PlayStation servers are down not just PS5, My PS4 is doing the same. As well as my ps phone app.”

Another adds: “Yeah, I can’t see my friends list or play any games online, but I can view the store, and it says I’m online.”

The good news is that this may be a short outage, as it doesn’t appear to have affected the PlayStation Network worldwide.
