Arnold Schwarzenegger has been working out three times a day to return as The Terminator – three months after a heart op.

Arnie, 70, has been firming up in the gym to play the cyborg assassin. But the ex-California governor only had emergency open heart surgery in March.

A witness at Gold’s gym in Los Angeles said: “Everyone did a double-take when Arnie walked in.

“He has just come back from a life or death position, so to see him pumping iron was crazy. He may be old but he can still rip out 100lb curls like it is no weight all.”

Arnold added on Instagram: “For a comeback, it’s all about reps, reps, reps. There is no magic pill.”

Witnesses apparently had to double take when they saw him

The movie star has been in the gym desperately trying to build back muscle

He is being reunited with director James Cameron, who made him a star in the original Terminator in 1984. There have been four sequels.

Production designer Norm Newberry said the combination will save the franchise – and added that Arnold still has the talent to make fans believe he is a killer.

“After all, he made us believe he was a governor of California – so he could do anything,” he said.
