Virgin Media subscribers are getting a free treat next month with the firm revealing that it’s dishing out some premium channels at no extra cost. From February 1, 2021, all 3.5 million Virgin TV customers will be able to tune-in to kids paid-for channels, including popular options like Cartoon Network, Cartoonio, Boomerang, Nickelodeon, NickToons, Nick Jr, and Nick Jr Too.

With lockdown continuing and the half-term holidays approaching fast, this deal couldn’t have come at a much better time. And should hopefully allow parents and guardians working from home some much needed quiet – at least for an hour or two.

Virgin Media has confirmed to Express.co.uk that its generous free kids telly offer will run until March 3, 2021 with customers getting access to popular shows including Blippi, Peppa Pig, PAW Patrol, Dora the Explorer, Masha and the Bear, Tom and Jerry, Looney Tunes, Adventure Time, and more on-demand as well as the linear channels.

Along with watching on the big screen, customers will be able to stream hundreds of free educational videos and kids box sets from their mobile or tablet devices, via the Virgin TV Go app. Virgin Media has also extended free access to award-winning kids app, Hopster, until the end of March.

It’s not just Virgin dishing out some freebies. Sky has also announced the launch of some similar free incentives including access to some exclusive movies that are usually reserved for Cinema subscribers.

These include Final Score, Monster Family and Four Kids and IT. While schools remain closed, Sky also says it is making the Highbrow app free until March 31 with this service offering carefully curated educational videos, for children aged 1-11.

And there’s even more aimed at younger viewers as, over the half-term holiday, you can take part in Aardman Morph model making workshops and a Harry Potter-themed quiz inside the My Sky app.
