Slack is experiencing a major outage today, on what is the first working day in the office back for many following the Christmas and New Year break.
Around 3pm GMT the Slack outage hit, with the official Slack status page saying messaging and connection problems are affecting the service.
While Down Detector has registered a huge spike in Slack down reports, with thousands of users reporting problems with the service.
The official Slack Twitter account has confirmed the outage, tweeting: “Customers may be experiencing issues connecting and using Slack at this time. Our team is currently investigating and we’re sorry for any troubles this may be causing. Please see https://status.slack.com for updates.”
While the official Slack Status page has been giving regular updates as engineers try to resolve the issue.
In their most recent message the Slack team said: “We’re continuing to investigate connection issues for customers, and have upgraded the incident on our side to reflect an outage in service.
“All hands are on deck on our end to further investigate. We’ll be back in a half hour to keep you posted.”
