Both of these 5G rollouts comes at an important time as the new iPhone from Apple hits stores tomorrow morning. These latest smartphones, dubbed iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro, are 5G-ready allowing them to access faster downloads, better speeds in crowded areas – like stadiums and festivals, and lower latency.

Speaking about the latest upgrade for O2 customers, Derek McManus, Chief Operating Officer, said: “When we launched 5G last October, we said it was the first step on a journey. One year on and we have made some incredible progress, not just in terms of our roll-out but in bringing about new capabilities that will make real changes to people’s everyday lives.
