Dedrick D. Williams was taken into custody yesterday (June 20) and has reportedly been charged with first-degree murder

Police investigating the murder of XXXTentacion have reportedly arrested a 22-year-old suspect.

The rising rapper was shot and killed during an apparent robbery on Monday (June 18). He was 20.

TMZ are now reporting that police have arrested 22-year-old Dedrick D. Williams, who was taken into custody yesterday (June 20) and charged with first-degree murder. The outlet is also reporting that Williams is being held without bail, while other reports have said that he has been charged with driving without a valid license and a probation violation for theft of a car.

The reports follow a video which surfaced on social media last night – apparently filmed at a vigil for XXXTentacion – which showed the mother of the rapper telling mourners that she’d received a call from police in regards to the arrest of a suspect.

A lawyer for the late artist had said that police investigators believed that he was targeted at random, while two Florida-based rappers – Soldier Kidd and Soldier JoJo – were recently forced to deny any involvement in the murder.

Meanwhile, a “charity event” that the rapper was intending to put on prior to his death will still go ahead this weekend, according to his mother.
